 sraeli journalist Yaron Deckel for a briefing (via Zoom) on the diplomatic
  and military situation of Israel’s war on seven fronts. The event is spon
 sored by the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI).\nYaron Deckel currently serv
 es as the Jewish Agency’s Regional Director to Canada. For almost three an
 d a half decades\, Yaron was considered one of the most respected and well
 -known journalists in Israel. His career spans over three decades of repor
 ting\, editing\, hosting\, and serving as leader of one of Israel’s most p
 opular radio stations. \nFrom 2012- 2017 Deckel served as the Editor in Ch
 ief and CEO of Galei Tsahal\, a national public radio station\, where he o
 versaw an annual budget of 60-million shekels\, 350 employees and soldiers
 . In 2015 he began hosting a weekly prime-time radio talk-show on Politics
 . Deckel started his journalism career at the age of 18 at the same popula
 r Army Radio Station.\nAs political reporter and commentator for both radi
 o and television\, for the past 3 decades he has closely followed the ins-
 and-outs of Israeli politics and governance\, developing close relationshi
 ps with all the decision makers in Israel\, including top politicians and 
 military leaders. \nHe has covered the last 12 Israeli election campaigns.
   \nBetween 2002–2007 Deckel served as Washington DC\, Bureau Chief for Is
 raeli Public TV where he covered US-Israel relations and traveled the US r
 eporting on social and cultural issues\, as well on internal US politics. 
 Deckel was the first Israeli journalist to interview President George W. B
 ush. He also interviewed Presidents Carter and Clinton\, among other US le
 aders.\nDeckel is the winner of several awards including the Sokolov Award
 \, the most prestigious award for journalists in Israel.  He also won the 
 B’nai B’rith award for special coverage of the Jewish Community in the USA
 .
