Let Us Welcome the Stranger

An Emergency Fund for the Resettlement of Afghan Refugees

Our goal is to raise at least $5,000 to support the purchase of beds, linens, tables and other essential household items for these families.

Partnering with:

The Jewish Federation of St. Joseph Valley, in partnership with Sinai Synagogue and Temple Beth-El, are calling on community members to donate to a special emergency fund for the resettlement of Afghan refugees in South Bend. In this endeavor, we will be supporting Catholic Charities and the United Religious Community (URC) who are heading the local resettlement effort.

Our goal is to raise at least $5,000 to support the purchase of beds, linens, tables and other essential household items for these families. We are asking members of the Jewish community to give generously to this effort. Torah tells us to remember the stranger for we were strangers in Egypt. Now is the time for us to dig deep to remember the strangers who are joining our community in South Bend.
