Souper Sukkah Sunday
Join us for a heartwarming and fun-filled Souper Sukkah Sunday!
This event is open to the entire Jewish community, and we especially encourage families to bring a whole vegetable from home to contribute to our communal Sukkah Soup.
Inspired by the beloved book Stone Soup, each family will bring a vegetable from home. These vegetables will be prepared and added to the broth in the Federation’s Kosher Kitchen under SBK supervision while we listen to the enchanting story.
While our delicious Sukkah Soup cooks, enjoy a variety of engaging activities:
- Sukkah Birdies: A Jewish Federation Sukkot tradition; create colorful hanging birdies from eggshells, playdough, and craft paper.
- Paper Chains: Write family names on paper chains and connect them, symbolizing unity.
- Tableaus: Act out Sukkah scenes like farmers harvesting fields.
- Sukkot Karaoke: Sing along with Rabbi Shoshana Kaminsky.
- Doves of Peace: Create, laminate, and hang doves with family names in the Sukkah.
- Cut & Craft Creations: Fold paper and cut your own creative design
- Essence of Strength: Inspired by Pirkei Avos 5:23, decorate your canvas with a visual representation of courage, grace, agility, & resilience.
In addition to the soup, we’ll have kosher pizza from Brand “Ess” Pizza for children who prefer it, along with delicious honey cake and apple cake.
Bring your whole family and a vegetable from home to be part of this special community event. We can’t wait to see you there!
This program is made possible with support from a grant from the National Jewish Outreach Program's Sukkot Across America initiative.
